Welcome.
In a week where my city gave a voice to all members of our community then said, "oops, never mind," it felt good to finish my #welcomeblanket. Made with yarn purchased from three locally owned shops, using a stitch I first learned from my grandmother. This blanket is headed to Chicago to join 2,000 miles of warm welcome before finding a home with a new immigrant to the United States.

Keep Marching
Six months ago we were walking shoulder to shoulder as far as you could see past National Museum of African American History and Culture. Today I got to go inside this beautiful building.
I only made it through the first three floors but look forward to a return trip to continue exploring "a people's journey."
Among the photos are bronzes of Elizabeth Freeman and Phillis Wheatley, and the rear door from a Citizens' Committee van.
Mad dash to summer
During the hottest part of summer the studio's glass furnace takes a vacation. That means I'm on a mad dash to make all the things on my list before the temperatures get to extreme outside and the furnace goes dark.
These are the last four pieces finished in June and, I must admit, they're new favorites!
